ASP.NET Session State - Can we use it?

It seems that whenever a new request is made through facebook to retrieve the fbml, my in-process session state is lost. In some ways I can see that this makes sense, but I thought I swore that I saw an example somewhere of someone making a facebook application utilizing session state.

Is the only way to go stateless? I wanted to store a complex object throughout the session...

Facebook doesn't maintain a session cookie... atleast I don't think they would.

You have some choices - use hidden fields, use viewstate, store state into a db and save the id into control state/hidden field...

You should be able to use the cookieless mode to get it to work if they dont remember the cookies.
