Problems using Facebook Developer Kit

Jul 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM
I am trying to use the Facebook Developer Kit so that I can use the setFBML method to write to a users profile from a C#/ASP.net page.

I have done a lot of research on this, and it seems like I am supposed to have:

using Facebook;
using Facebook.Entity;
using Facebook.WebControls;

at the top of the page.  Well, "using Facebook.Entity; " gives me an error:

The type or namespace name 'Entity' does not exist in the namespace 'Facebook'

Everyone says I absolutely need to have:

public partial class _AddToProfile : CanvasIFrameBasePage {

Well that gives me the error:

The type or namespace name 'CanvasIFrameBasePage' could not be found

So I have to use 'public partial class _AddToProfile : System.Web.UI.Page {' instead just to get the page to load.

I have the canvas part of my application complete, and I just need to post a small section of text on to the users profile.

This is strange.  If I am not logged in to Facebook and I type in the url for my canvase page in Firefox, Facebook forces me to log in and then redirects me to the canvas page which takes up the entire screen.  If I go to the same page in Internet Explorer, the application loads without me having to log in to facebook, and it is inside the application iframe where it is supposed to be.
